MURUGAN'S AARU PADAI

Tirupparam Kundram

Indra married off his daughter Deivayanai to Muruga in reward for slaying the demon Surapadman. Sang'am age poet Nakkeerar sang his Tirumurugaatrupadai here. This is a cave temple.

Triuchendur
 
Situated at the Bay of Bengal, this is where Murugan is said to slain Surapadman. Kumaraguruparar who was born mute later became a great poet with the blessings of Chendur Murugan.

Tini Avinankudi (Pazbani)
  
Here Murugan is seen here as an ascetic, Thandayuthapani. After losing the holy fruit to His brother Ganesha in a contest Murugan got angry and went to the Pazhani Hill, according to Puranas.

Swamy Malai
  
Munigan at this abode is known as Swamynathan. This is where Murugan is said to have taught His father Lord Siva the meaning of the Pranava Mantra- OM. Thus the name Swamynathan.
Tiruttani
  
Murugan is seen here with his 2 consorts Valli and Deivayanai. This is where Murugan anger after slaying Surapadman. It was known as Seruthani (calming down anger) first. Over the years it got a new name.

Pazhamuthir Cholai
  
This is the 6th Padai Veedu of Muruga. This where Sage Awayar sang on Muruga and was blessed. Muruga is seen here with both His consorts Valli and Deivayanai
